Misc Headcanons: Though he finds learning languages incredibly boring and finds it frustrating and annoying when Sofia and Barry speak anything other than English, he nonetheless finds it attractive.
When he’s stressed he can easily spiral and start hallucinating, his most common hallucinations being the voice of Ward Cameron, a whispering voice that’s always in another room and speaks incomprehensibly, scratching on his shoulders and wrists, what feels like a hand running down his back,

and occasionally Barry’s voice trying to talk him down. He rarely has visual hallucinations, though when he does it’s usually just seeing a bright red or blue light that’s not there which sometimes makes it difficult to see clearly.
After being around the Cross of Santa Domingo for so long during withdrawals, he started to hear angels (singing, ringing, harps) and feel flames and heat on his feet, legs and hands.
When deep in a bad psychotic episode, he sometimes gets the delusion that Barry and Sofia can actually read his mind, which has an equal chance of either sending him deeper and making him more paranoid or giving him a strange comfort that he’s not alone in his own mind or that he doesn’t have to say everything he’s thinking.
Rafe is a switch and a vers, though he tends to lean heavily towards submission, though he often puts on an act of dominance during hookups with women.

Despite being a gay man, he feels a lot of sensual, aesthetic and vocal attraction to women, usually choosing his fake girlfriends (or “beards”) based on looks and voice.
The original reasons he chose Sofia to date were because he liked her voice, liked her dark hair, and thought she was aesthetically beautiful. He stayed with her because he liked the way she felt and how much she seemed to care about him.
Rafe is incredibly possessive and protective of Barry, quickly getting violently jealous whenever he sees Barry with others, especially if he doesn’t know them. The only exception to this jealousy is Sofia.
He is quite protective over Sofia, but never to the same level he is of Barry, mostly just protecting her from leering men and his and Barry's dangerous lifestyles.

Whenever she wants to speak more privately, or even just to annoy/tease Rafe, she likes to speak Spanish to Barry
She likes to sing and hum when doing things.
Due to working in bartending, Sofia has a secret talent for reading men, learning how to get the highest tip or push people’s buttons to get them to back off.
She is a switch/vers, when domming she takes on a more soft domme role and when submitting tends to be very playful and occasionally bratty, and generally prefers to bottom.

Though her family doesn't have much money, her parents have supported her transition ever since she came out to them at a young age, getting her on puberty blockers as soon as possible and starting her on HRT. Once she started working at the country club, she was able to pay for her HRT mostly on her own and began pooling together money for bottom surgery, though it was only until after meeting Rafe that she was able to afford it with some of his help.

Misc Headcanons: He is mixed with a first generation latina mother and a white Italian father.
As a side affect of his business dealings, Barry has a startling talent for reading people, to the point where he’s known to essentially be able to read people’s minds, giving him an advantage on how to manipulate or push people's buttons when they don’t follow through on deals.
He has a single sister called Jessie who’s older than him and acted as a protector throughout their lives, speaking up for him when he was younger.

He and his sister both cut contact with their dad around the same time, and he is still incredibly close with her, giving her free weed and hanging out with her often.
